The soldier of ancient Egypt was there to protect the rest of the society. This was important because Egypt was attacked by other nations. To keep Egypt independent, it needed to be defended. Soldiers built forts along trade routes to make sure the traders were not attacked and the goods weren’t stolen. This encouraged trading with other countries and gave people a sense of security. When at peace, the soldiers worked on government projects like digging irrigation canals and building temples.
Soldiers who performed well in battle or led others, were often rewarded after times of war with goods, slaves to work on their land or gold. Many working class men were encouraged to join the military for the glory and better social status. https://www.rvis.edu.bh Weapons: Axe Bow and Arrow Dagger Shields Chariots
